Further Information for the U3A Birders Group

This group makes visits to birding sites around our local area, on both on Mondays and Fridays and, as a member of this group you can attend on either or both days The meetings are approximately fortnightly, from early October to late June.

Monday visits start at 09.30hrs. and Friday at 14.00hrs. Variations do happen, so do check the 'Programme Details' for dates and venues and see also the 'Postscript Text' section at the end.

It is anticipated that visits will last between 2-3hrs. subject to sightings and weather conditions. Group members should bring binoculars/telescopes and wear suitable footwear/clothing for the terrain and weather conditions. Whilst birdwatching is core to our meetings, we also may log other interesting flora and fauna.

On occasions, we also undertake whole day, or longer, trips to reserves in other parts of the country for those of our group who want the chance to see birds that are not to be found on our local patch.
