Further Information for the Listen and Enjoy Group

We start this year's programme proper with a programme of sacred music. A chance to get out and polish up your Masses, Requiems, Glorias and Te Deums. We will celebrate Benjamin Britten's birth in November.

By popular request we shall be featuring works for solo or accompanied instruments in January, and in February we pay a visit to sunny Italy to brighten up the winter. Plenty of scope for opera here, but who will find non-operatic Italian works? Will Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony feature? Never mind if not, there'll always be another chance in April when we are devoting our programme to that purest of musical form, the Symphony.

After a rousing programme of music from the world of film in May, at midsummer you can treat the rest of us to your idea of what's suitable for a lazy summer afternoon Chopin's Raindrop prelude, perhaps? Finally, in July some songs - Operatic arias, Lieder, Folk, you name it, you play it. You might even sing it!
